Fish oil Supplements can Improvise Heart Failure
Of late, an Italian study has discovered that daily intake of Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid can reduce heart failure. Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian, an associate professor of medicine and epidemiology at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health has shared his observational studies regarding the benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids for heart diseases. As fish oil is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, the fish oil and fish oil supplements help with heart failure.
When the heart lacks the capacity to pump blood efficiently around the body, it triggers heart failure. Fish oil supplements are found to be effective in treating heart failure better than some of the other options of treating heart diseases. According to an experiment conducted on more than 7000 people, done by consortium of 357 Italian cardiology centers, intake of Omega-3 PUFA has better effect on heart failure than popular cholesterol reducing drugs. The findings have created a revolution in the dietary recommendation of the patient with heart failure.
Fish oil supplements can also help combat chronic heart failure as the researches have found that fish oil and its supplements are slightly more effective than placebo or drug.
But the benefits of fish oil in heart disease don’t mean that anyone with problem of heart failure should take fish oil supplement on their own. The high-risk condition of heart failure needs proper diagnosis and accurate treatment procedure. Taking specific formulation of fish oil supplement prescribed by a physician is crucial to cure heart failure.
